Country life certainly is never dull, nor is one frequently alone.
A variety of shots taken whilst staying at my friends place, their friendly chickens are free to wander about, which includes one of the speckled hens chasing the magpies.

Cute that the magpies come to eat out of your hands. We have some magpies that started to come close to us and I started feeding them, now they come to our garden regularly, although they only get to within a metre or two of us.
