As The Catnip.............

As the catnip flowers it is not only the cats who enjoy its wares.
Currently, I would have to say that all the insects are favouring this plant to all the others blooming in the garden.
The cabbage moths are a constant visitors, flitting from one flower to the next, chased by Pixie and Tarmal as they do so.
Also the ants are feasting on these delicate delights, and as yet I have not seen them doing the same on any other flowers, catnip really does seem to appeal to a wide range of folk.

As the bee's too begin to visit, I am very observant, making sure Tarmal does not begin to chase them, it appears though, he remembers the pain the last encounter with a bee gave him, thankfully he keeps a very safe distance as these buzzing beauties collect the nectar and pollen.
But, I too will be enjoying the gift of this humble plant.
Catnip tea contains vitamins A, B, C, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, selenium and sodium. Catnip tea is calming, it helps to relive stress, anxiety, helps to treat migraines and insomnia. To add to that is it is a natural antacid, therefore anyone suffering from digestive problems will benefit from drinking this tea. To make a cup of catmint tea, place three to four fresh leaves into a cup of hot, not boiling water, sweeten with honey and lemon to lighten the slightly woodsy taste, then simply sit back and enjoy....................

The pictures are a real treat and the blossoms exquisite. I wonder if you're able to garden year round?
