It Felt Right................

It felt right from the moment I pulled into the car park, especially after the first two catteries that I visited.
I had left the second feeling somewhat despondent, thinking that all local catteries were going to be like prison for my two little angels.
Concrete floors, wire walls, no views outside, no warmth at all.
I had one last stop on the way home
And
I found cat heaven.......
The reception area was just fab, this was looking good, a cheery welcome could mean a place that actually is catered for the comfort of cats.... Welcome to the Penthouse Suite, which is where my two shall be staying for 6 nights of kitty bliss. I was giggling the whole way through my tour, this place is wonderful. I decided that seeing that I am going to have a nice relaxing holiday on an island in Fiji, then only the best would do for Spirit and Pixie. The suite where they will be staying is also the staff coffee room, which should impress Pixie as she will have people to hide from!!!! I think that this place may see her come out of her shell a little more, a little divine intervention please! The resident cats, all eight of them have the run of the place, they wander around to ensure all guests are having a good time, and it appears encourage group playtime too, which will challenge Spirit as he is a tad territorial. After viewing all the different room I decided on...... The Penthouse Suite. Which is $30 per day twin share, inclusive of all meals, treats and cuddles also comes with the follow; Heating and air conditioning to ensure all year comfort. Large personalized suite that has two rooms, both with three storeys of climbing frames and sleeping baskets. An adventure playground with chairs, cushions, carpet and an open window to smell the bushland aromas outside. TV played with the animal channel on, this should be a novelty for my two as TV is something that I don't spend time watching. An aquarium (safe from hunting paws) to add that sense of the tropics to the place. And last but not least, serenades of birdsong piped through to all rooms, which perhaps will drive Spirit mad! It was bright, clean and SO friendly. The owner is potty about about cats, as we made our way around she impressed me with the way she stopped and spoke to all her charges, by name too. After the first two places that I had seen this was heaven, all the cats that were staying here were relaxed which is what I wanted to see. They even take portraits of the guests to add to their visitors book, how cute is that? I am not certain how Spirit will go, he is an outside boy, likes to come home when it suits him, I guess it may give him a glimpse of becoming a little more tolerant of other cats, which can only be a good thing.
I am happy now to be going on holiday, I have to say that I was a little concerned as to where it was my cats would be going, leaving them home was not an option as Spirit literally climbs the walls (curtains and fly screens to be exact,) when he wants to go out.
And I was worried that he might not come back if thought that I had left him like his previous owners did, bless his wee soul.
I am content with my decision now and I feel that they will have a great time, with any luck Pixie will begin to trust more humans and know that not all of them are out to cause her harm.......
