Oh What A Beautiful Morning

The sight of a rainbow always fills my soul with glee, especially on a rainy morning, the sun was just appearing into view and was adding a golden touch to the dawn sky.
The first drops of rain were starting to fall, the sky full of dark and delightful rain clouds promising a day showery bliss, well for me in any case, I know that not everyone enjoys the heavens opening as much as I do.
In the stillness of the morning, with the promise of rain to come my day is perfect!
Mmmmmm these smell delicious..............
Yummy, my favorites.........................
Now you see them.......................
And now......
You don't!

Family Day Out

Enjoying a picnic..............
This baby was looking slightly bedraggled........................
Taking a moment to enjoy the surroundings.......................
A little bit of rough and tumble........................
Before flying home to bed!
Yesterday I enjoyed a quiet stroll by a local river.........
Watching a lone seagull gliding along in search of something tasty to eat.............
Discovering a peaceful place to sit.....................
To watch the waves breaking on the shore.....................
My idea of HEAVEN.....................

Blossom's Friend

Madame B is overjoyed that the weather has began to turn, the mornings are bracing as are the evenings, therefore she is euphoric as the fire has sprung into life once again. She goes into a deep meditative state as she sits there warming her frail little bones, getting as close as she can without sitting on the cold tiles.
I often think how she will enjoy life once we return to England what with central heating in every room, she will think all her Christmas's have come at once!

Who Would I Hurt?

The answer of course is no one, unless of course you were about to hurt her or her baby, she would then do her best to defend their lives, just like you or I would, otherwise kangaroo's will simply just enjoy their life. Yet these beautiful and gentle creatures are murdered in their thousands, for fun, for souvenirs and of course for food.
A 'fun' Australian past time is roo (kangaroo) shooting, this consists of a group of people going out with the sole intention of having 'fun' shooting innocent kangaroos for the sheer amusement of it. Most do not want to eat them, they just get an incredible rush from murdering these benevolent animals in cold blood. Often the animals are not killed outright, they are wounded and left to die in agonizing pain as the group of mindless humans going searching for their next target. There are of course the joey's to consider, snuggled inside their mothers pouch, if their mother is shot and the pouch not checked then they too will die. In a strange twist of conscious often these shooters will take the orphaned joey home, if a sick attempt to 'save' its life as it's mother lies bleeding to death. What sort of life is that? Consider your feelings if you witness your mother shot down in front of you in cold blood, the shock, the emotional pain and the anguish, simply unbearable.

There is also the tourist trade to consider here too, thousands upon thousands of kangaroos' are slaughtered so that visitors have the opportunity to take home a purse, bag, toy, or whole skin of a kangaroo as a memento of their visit, this is of course after they have walked around a wild life park snapping photos and cooing over these exquisite animals. Sick? I think so.

Then of course you see the many corpses that lie lifeless along the side of the road hit as they go searching for food as their natural habitat disappears at a devastating pace daily. Again many of these animals are not dead, the motorist is usually not in least bit concerned with the blameless kangaroo, they are more concerned about their precious car.

Do they consider assisting the dying kangaroo?

No!

Do they consider the trauma their family has to go through having seen there relative struck down?

No!

They just swear and curse at the damage to their precious automobile, thinking of the inconvenience of having to get it fixed, that they are late for work, not a thought goes out normally for the dying kangaroo at the side of the road.

These elegant and mild animals are off course not singled out in the barbaric treatment that they contend with, however when I see the blatant disregard to the rights of these animals I feel enraged, tormented by the knowledge that another feeling loving animal (and if you have forgotten we ARE animals too) has to suffer so much terror and torture. Some say that there are far too many kangaroo's here in Australia that they need to be culled.................. don't get me started on that one, as the same could be said for the human animal as it too is breeding out of control demolishing everything and everyone in its way in search of the 'perfect lifestyle.'

Again I say we ALL have the right to life, whether our skin is fur or feathers we ALL have a right to live in peace and in harmony, this right is not just reserved for the human animal.

Cheeky Birds

Last weekend we went to have afternoon tea in a delightful little cafe which has some rather cheeky and cute feathered visitors.

This magpie could not resist the temptation of left over cake, so once the people next to us had vacated their table he was in like a flash to snap up any let overs. Greedy little person that he is!!!

Then these two appeared, they had more manners and ate at the near by bird table in a more civilised fashion!

He's Back

I was delighted to walk into the kitchen the other night to discover that Blackie was waiting by the kitchen door. My heart filled with joy seeing him as I had begun to worry in case something had happened to him.
I guess being a 'man about town' he may have been busy with the ladies, and of course the weather has begun to turn and winter seems to be heading our way, and as we all know cats do not like to be wet!

New Jumper!

Because Madame B is a little old granny cat I decided that she required extra warmth on these chilly winter nights. I could not resist this pink jumper in the pet shop, it is "so Blossom!!" She was not quiet sure about it all at first, however she soon got use to it..............
Snuggling in her new basket with her snazzy new jumper I realised that my little princess does lead the life of luxury indeed, bless her perfect little heart....

These Boots Are Made For.........................

Gardening!
I decided that I required a pair of wellington boots to keep my feet warm and dry in the wet weather so went in search for a pair that were slightly different, and anyone who knows me would be so surprised that I chose this skeleton design in the first place. I found them hilarious, and thought if nothing else I will cause a few giggles whenever I wear them..............

Missing Blackie

My little stray feline visitor has not been for several days now and I do trust that he is alright, that in a few days I will see his perfect little face waiting for me at the kitchen door as he has done since we moved into this house. It has taken me a year and a half to be able to pick him up, to cuddle him and to hear him purr in contentment, showing him that not all humans are cruel, that there are those of us who honor all gods' creatures, especially the homeless ones.
I ask the Universe to assist him in his journey and to ensure he is not suffering, bless his beautiful little heart.

Meet Bender

I had the pleasure of meeting this amazing feline a recently, he is an Egyptian Mau and he melted my heart (sorry Blossom) he is so gentle and affectionate a real cuddly cat. I just did not think the name Bender really suits him, I mean with such a regal face perhaps his people could have come up with something a little more sophisticated!!
I would really like to have one of these cats myself so perhaps I ought to ask the Universe in the exact same way I asked for Blossom..................... Although I know that Madame B would not accept another cat sharing her mummy, so it will have to wait awhile longer.......

Buddha's Birth Day

This afternoon I enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere at the local celebration for Buddha's Birth Day.
It was a shame we had just eaten as there was plenty of tempting smells wafting on the breeze from the food stalls, even though I was full my mouth was watering...........
The displays were amazing, the colours so vibrant and alive.................
This was a display for Buddha's birth place, it was serene set here under the shady trees, a nice place to rest in the midday heat........

My New Garden

I spent all day yesterday moving bricks, levelling sand, and planting my new garden. I have been slightly naughty inasmuch as I did not take progress photo's but I am certain you can cope with that!

This is going to be my meditation and yoga area, although it will also serve as quiet little hideaway to read a book or perhaps enjoy a quiet cup of coffee..................
Beneath my therapy room window I have planted some orange jasmine which when it is in flower the scent will fill my room............
All I am waiting on now is for my meditation seat to be finished................
